Specialist Trauma and Limb Reconstruction Surgeon

General orthopaedics and complex trauma, adult and paediatric Limb Reconstruction and Ilizarov surgery, limb lengthening, hand, foot and ankle conditions.

Graduated as a medical practitioner in South Africa in 1987. Completed his surgical pre- fellowship training in the UK, and obtained his Fellowship (FRCS) at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and Glasgow in 1996. Specialised as an Orthopaedic Surgeon at the University of Cape Town, and acquired the South African College of Medicine Fellowship FCS(SA)Orth in Orthopaedic Surgery in 2000.

Subsequently completed fellowships in Adult and Paediatric Limb Reconstruction and Complex Trauma in Sheffield, and also spent time in Italy and Russia to further training in the Ilizarov method.

Specializes in the treatment of complex trauma, limb reconstruction, deformity correction, mal union and bone infection.

Member of the British Limb Reconstruction Society.

Employed as a full time Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedics at the Gloucester Royal Hospital.
